The mission of the Christian Education Committee is to plant seeds of God's love which we pray will grown into lives of joyful service. While some teachers plant and others water, we trust God's Spirit nurtures the church community in faith and love from baptism throughout their days. We rejoice in participating in and encouraging continual growth. The same Spirit sends us out into the world so we also provide opportunities for reaching out in local and global missions. |

Fellowship
The Fellowship Committee seeks to build our congregation in the Rejoicing, Renewing and Reaching Out which comprise our koininia (life-sharing fellowship) in God's Holy Sprit. We host a weekly coffee hour after worship in which bread is broken and loving relationships developed. Throughout the year we create physical and spiritual contexts in which joyful conversations and mutual care might thrive. Here are some examples of our work: Celebration Sunday, Worldwide Communion, Thanksgiving dinner, Advent Lessons and Carols, Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner, Lenten Soup and Devotions, summer Church Picnic, and more. Membership
The Membership Committee welcomes visitors into the life of "Rejoicing, Renewal and Reaching Out" to which God's Spirit has called Fanwood Presbyterian Church. We hope newcomers sense God's love as we follow up welcoming words with deliveries of bread. Those who are drawn into learning more are encouraged to join new member classes which combine fellowship and an introduction to church history and theology. The Membership Committee also encourages all church members to realize the joy and newness that God's Spirit seeks to provide through active participation in our shared life in Christ. |

Mission
The Mission Committee creates and organizes diverse opportunities for FPC members to spread God's love through hard work and fellowship. Wherever possible, we seek hands-on activities that support local, national and international ministries. This past year our focus has been on hunger relief, but we also offer other opportunities for the congregation to contribute their time, talent and financial resources. We seek to further our collective journeys of faith by rejoicing in fellowship as we work together, renewing our commitment to Christ through dedicated service, and reaching out to those in need, all while Growing in God's Love. The Mission Committee of Fanwood Presbyterian Church includes members from Session as well as members from the congregation-at-large. Its main focus is participatory charitable activities and acts as the representative to Session for many of the volunteer activities of the Church, including the Food Bank, HomeFirst, Habitat for Humanity & the Thrift Shop. |

| The Mission Committee also oversees the donations from the Church budget to missions consisting mostly of local charities. The Committee is also responsible for special fundraisers for Mission activities within the Church, such as hurricane relief. top |

The Nominating Committee consists of Elders, Deacons, Trustees and members of the Congregation at Large. They meet, as necessary, to recommend nominees for the election of Elders, Deacons, Trustees, Auditors, Foundation Trustees and any other positions designated by the Session.
When considering a candidate to nominate, the committee reflects on his or her Church involvement as well as personal characteristics and skills, such as cooperativeness, willingness to learn, openness to new ideas and maturity of judgment.

The primary goal of the Personnel Committee is to create and sustain an ongoing dialogue with each staff member. The aim is to critically evaluate performance and maximize individual potential and insure that the Christian Fellowship and encouragement that is shown to other members of our community of faith is extended to all staff members.
The Personnel Committee consists of four members. A minimum of two and a maximum of three must be current Session members; the remainder are at-large members of the Congregation. The term is a maximum of four years. While committee members are accountable to Session, a high degree of discretion and a level of confidence are kept in relation with staff. Each member of the committee is a liaison to a staff member and is an advocate for that person, meeting at least twice a year to discuss personnel concerns.
The Committee meets quarterly to discuss job functions and requirements and at least once annually to review compensation and other concerns. From annual reviews the Personnel Committee advises Session regarding staff requirements to perform their jobs. Personnel reports to the Stewardship and Finance Committee regarding annual compensation recommendations and to Session for approval of these recommendations prior to the Annual Congregational Meeting. Any changes in terms of call for ordained staff come to the Annual Congregational Meeting.

The Stewardship and Finance Committee inspires, encourages, and fosters an awareness of stewardship as a joyful response to God's gifts of love and grace in our lives, so that all may prayerfully consider, as disciples of Christ, how to reach out through the giving of time, talents and financial resources. It is also the mission of the committee, as good stewards, to prepare and present a faithful budget for the upcoming year and to keep the congregation informed of our stewardship of financial resources.
The Stewardship and Finance Committee fosters an awareness of stewardship as a joyful response to the Spirit’s gifts of love and grace in our lives. We seek to inspire and encourage the congregation to reach out through the giving of time, talents and financial resources. As good stewards of the church’s financial resources, we prepare and present a faithful church budget and keep the congregation informed of stewardship opportunities along with financial joys and concerns.
