Food Bank  - Bobbie Swenson foodbank@fanwoodpc.org

Collecting Food With Scouts

FPC has provided groceries to the hungry since 1971, when the program began as a cupboard in which food was delivered to the needy.

Today, more than 40 families, mostly from the Plainfield area, pick up food on the third Saturday of each month. THe Food Bank is stocked by FPC congregants; members of Temple Sholom, with whom we share space; the November Scouting for Food Drive in Fanwood and Scotch Plains; and the May food drive conducted by Fanwood postal workers. top

Soup Kit TeensTwice each year FPC members help host families spending the week at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains. Our church members supply and serve Thursday dinner, Friday breakfast, Friday dinner, and Saturday breakfast for Homefirst families - those temporarily without a roof over theri heads. On Thursday and Friday evening, we also spend time with famlies and share crafts/games with the children. We are a vital part of this interdenominational ministry, and the smiles on the children's faces are more than enough reward!
